Faith Onomeh

Faith Onomeh is a biomedical researcher who is dedicated to impactful cancer research and enhancing public health in underserved communities.

Her work on racial disparities in cancer incidence underscores the significance of social and environmental determinants of health. Armed with hands-on experience at AMGEN and The University of Virginia, Faith is committed to developing human capital by integrating her research skills with community engagement, translating scientific findings into real-world improvements for public health and community development.

Throughout her academic journey, Faith has developed strong data analysis skills, essential for her research on cancer incidence disparities across race, gender, and individuals over 65 in Alabama's Black Belt counties. This collaborative effort was published in the esteemed AACR journal. Her future research will explore major cancer types and disparities among diverse racial groups, including molecular analysis of tumor microenvironment within target demographics.

As a first-generation student, Faith's work exceeds academics—she volunteers with the 'Know.Grow.Show' Community Garden program at The House Tuscaloosa, where she has developed engaging teaching methods to promote students' understanding of gardening and community involvement. Faith graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Cybersecurity from Stillman College. She is also a distinguished member of the YALE PATHS Fellowship and received certification from the Leadership Academy at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
